An Eco Restaurant in London- sounds gooood!!
March 20, 2008 by Natasha

Take a look at that pic above!!
That’s the Acorn House Restaurant in Swinton Street, WC1X.
I was wondering if there were any Fairtrade restaurants about in London selling ‘fair’ meals to eco-consious diners and lo and behold here’s one right in Kings X….
According to the Restaurant themselves, they offer a seasonal menu, recycle everything and promote healthy eating. It kinda sounds pure and heavenly, I’m not sure I’d be allowed in?! Anywho, eating out somewhere like this does set you back. The average price for 2 people having a 3-course-meal with wine costs roughly £100!!
( Not on my student budget then
)
I contacted the restaurant to ask them how important Fairtrade was to them. Executive Head Chef Arthur Potts Dawson said:
“Fairtrade is an extremely important part of what we try to achieve at both our restaurants. We buy Fairtrade where possible, and I work with the Fairtrade brand to highlight their importance to the restaurant industry.
We use chocolate, sugar, coffee, pepper and sometimes even wine. Fairtrade is a great way for independent farmers or cooperatives to becomes sustainable businesses rather than being used as practically slave labour.”
